The second major carrier from the Middle East has stated an interest in Airbus’ A380neo.  Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways has said that he would consider using the upgraded jets to replace Qatar’s current fleet.

He said, “If Airbus produces a (plane) which is head and shoulders above what they produce today – we would look at them for replacements.”

Emirates is currently Airbus’s largest customer.  The Emirates fleet includes nearly 70, with 140 more ordered.  However Sir Tim Clark, Emirates CEO stated that they could order as many as 200, an $86 billion +  value.
